Dignity & The Philadelphia Eagles
Category : Dignity News
Dignity Housing has been selected by the Philadelphia Eagles to be a 2017 Eagles Care Partner, which is a program built upon the belief that strong non-profits build strong communities. Dignity has been a leading force in the fight against homelessness in Philadelphia for almost 30 years, and as we prepare to celebrate this significant anniversary in 2018, this partnership will help ensure that Dignity Housing will continue our legacy for years to come. Teaming up with our city’s favorite men in green will help strengthen our force and impact within the community.
This monumental partnership grants Dignity Housing with a plethora of opportunities including monthly, professional training sessions to help enhance our impact, support for our charitable events, chances to interact with the players, and tickets to games for our residents, staff, and supporters!
As part of Dignity’s first Eagles Care event, teammates, staff and residents joined together to take part in fall planting! Only one day after their big game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Bryce Treggs, Steven Means, Aziz Shittu, Nigel Bradham and Joe Walker donated their time to making our properties blossom with color.
The players were great with the kids, and the Dignity kids definitely put the players to work in our garden! From digging holes deep enough for vibrant mums,
to learning that worms are not gross but an essential part of a garden’s growth, everyone who participated had a wonderful afternoon making Dignity Housing the brightest spot on the block.
In addition to the unique experience of working side-by-side with the players, Dignity Housing was awarded a $5,000 grant from the Philadelphia Eagles. This partnership is a tremendous benefit for Dignity Housing and we look forward to the countless opportunities that await. Go Birds!
