Programs and Services

What We Do

Dignity provides quality, affordable subsidized housing to homeless individuals and families in three housing programs, each specially designed to meet the varying needs of the resident population. Anchored by case management, Dignity offers a range of services to residents – including life skills development, employment, and education services, health and wellness supports, housing placement services (for a successful transition to permanent housing), as well as educational activities for children and youth.  Case managers assess immediate needs for livable income, food, transportation, childcare, etc. and ensure appropriate action toward meeting these needs. They connect residents with benefits and work with them to develop short-term goals and action steps with paths to long-term self-sufficiency.
Providing Housing

Dignity’s 58 units of housing range from efficiency apartments to three-bedroom houses. Every unit has a kitchen with standard appliances, and our Alicia’s House program (for domestic violence survivors) is fully furnished. For homeless families and individuals, moving into a Dignity unit is often the first time in months or years that they have a safe place to sleep at night, without the stress of where they will sleep tomorrow.

Promoting Self-Sufficiency

At Dignity Housing, we know that affordable housing alone will not move individuals and families out of poverty.  For that reason, Dignity’s provides housing in combination with supportive services designed to promote the self sufficiency of our residents.  Our supportive services model encourages residents to be actively involved in setting goals – initially, to achieve daily stability through life skill development and health and wellness support.  Once stable, clients tackle individual goals in areas of education, employment, and securing permanent housing beyond Dignity.
